1st of all I wanna send a BIG OL' Thank you to the MARINE CORPS for changing our orders yet AGAIN!

No more HAWAII for us.... NOPE!  No fun in the sun on the beach 24/7.... it is now
BATTLE CREEK, MI

What in the world you ask is in Battle Creek, MI?  Well, apparently there is a reserve unit there that my marine will be in charge of.  We are HOPING that he will NOT be deployed (but we are guessing it is a REAL possibility with all the Crap going on all over)

So we are going from this nasty brown desert of

to beautiful green of Michigan

right in the beginning of spring!  Oh and did I forget to add that they want us there by the end of March?  WTC? There is NO WAY we can jump through hoops that fast and get outta here.  We still have to give our 30 days notice for our housing!

I am a LITTLE worried about moving (but that is NORMAL for me)  I am thinking about the schools for my girls, area to live... (this will be the 1st time living in CIVILIAN housing!) and oh! Don't forget the SHOPPING!  What grocery stores are there?  Is there a commissary close? I am freaking out just typing all of this..... What is it gonna be like, living a "normal" civilian type life?  Not so sure about it! But looking forward to the NEW adventure!

He's BACK!

Ok so he was only gone for a month. But still.  This last month has pretty much been CRAPOLA! Isn't that always the case when the guy leaves?  Well, it certainly happened to me! You name it, it happened.

I was so looking forward to my marine coming back home. He got home last thursday night at 12:15 am (so actually it was friday morning)  He had called me from his layover in Chicago and said he wanted me to pick him up from work that night.  That is totally NOT like him.  He usually wants me to drop off his truck early and he just comes home.  So I did what he wanted.... I cleaned our room thursday night (ya know cuz I let it go and didn't keep up with the mess while he was gone)  I also dyed my hair!  YUP NO MORE GRAY! Note to self... DO NOT dye your hair at 1045pm.  You might not do the best job. :) I'm just saying.
So I go to pick up my marine... oh ya, they had to take a WHITE bus all the way from LAX to 29 Palms. NOT a comfy ride (he said) and they drive SO SLOW!  It took them 10 minutes to get through the gate to his work. (a drive that should MAYBE take 5 minutes) WAITING TAKES FOREVER!

We didn't go to sleep friday morning til after 1am.  Then guess what? YUP! My marine was awake before 4am. (NOT THAT KIND OF AWAKE!) And when I say awake he was up and dressed! He was still on Germany time.... 9 hours ahead. Plus he had slept on the flight and the bus ride home. So he was Wide awake.  Thank goodness he went out into the livingroom and watched tv.

Anyhow, we had made plans to go out on a date OVERNIGHT and have my friend watch the girls.  I was so looking forward to getting away.  We went to dinner at Olive Garden in Palm Springs.  Then instead of staying down there... we came back home and went to the base theater to see Country Strong (ya, it was actually a good movie) and then headed home.  Weird being in the house WITHOUT my girlies.  I missed them and kept thinking I SHOULD CALL TO CHECK ON THEM. But I didn't.
So now life is back to "normal" it's like my marine never left.  Life is filled with tv and sleeping.  (Is my husband the only one who is like that?)  Only a month of him home then he leaves again for another month..... oh the joys!

Crafting my heart away

So February is GONE! and March is HERE!  Which means... taking down the Valentine's decor and putting up my St. Patrick's day stuff.  Compared to All the other holidays.... I have the least amount of St. Patty's day goodies to decorate my home.
SO.... Instead of cleaning my house and catching up on ALL the laundry. I made a trip to the Dollar Store and Wally World, to pick up a few craft supplies.  I have really enjoyed making Valentine wreaths last month, so I decided to try my hand at one for St. Patty's day too. (I even did KIND OF a Tutorial... Give me a break, it was my 1st time)

So here we go.
Ist I took this (bargain at just $1)

then I added this green yarn whole thing was $2.97 (my girls picked out the color)

wrapped it around tightly so that there were no holes.  Secured it with some hot glue.
Then I added this floral pin to the back to hang it up on the wall.  And WALLAH! (is that even how you spell it?)

Then I added these.  Got a package of them for just $1.97 at Wally World.

So here is the FINAL product. What do ya think?

(I stuck it on the wall outside... trying to figure out where to hang it.  I like the way it looks in my entry way.)

Here is another wreath I did.  I took old puzzle pieces, painted them green and then added them to another dollar wreath wrapped in crepe paper.  whole thing cost me $1.00 for the wreath
