This is where I came from

For Christmas my parents are giving us pictures of my ancestors... my grandparents from both sides and also my parents engagement photo.  My grandpa (my dad's dad) was an AMAZING photographer and took most of these pictures.  What a cool gift. This is where I came from.  This line of AMAZING and talented, hardworking people.  All of my grandparents are gone.  I never got to meet my grandma (my dad's mom) she died before my parents were even married.  I am amazed by their stories and their lives.

My parents always come up with the greatest gifts.  It's not the money that is important. It is the thought and the care that goes into the gift.

I come from some great people..... now I gotta just live up to their greatness.  Is that even possible??

The trainstation

Seeing things through the eyes of a child is so different than us as adults.  My 7 year old went on a field trip to a train station.  NORMALLY when my girls go on a field trip I get a disposable camera for them to take with them.  NOT this time.  My marine thought it would be nice to let our daughter take the point and shoot (my old) digital camera.  After a QUICK lesson on how to use it, I sent her on her way to school.

This is what she came home with. BTW, yes, (my) camera survived and made it back in 1 piece. 

I am a proud mama.  I think she did a mighty fine job.  AND she had a great time!  Yes she told us ALL about it on the drive home from school.
