Coupons Coupons EVERYWHERE!

It was double coupon day today... weird to have it on a Federal Holiday.. which was stinky because not all the 7day stores were open, which limited my choice of stores :( Oh well. I have been working on sorting and cutting my coupons ALL weekend long! My girls are wondering when the get to eat at the Kitchen table (which we did tonite for dinner By the Way :) I had COUPONS EVERYWHERE! I was on Coupon OVERLOAD. I was up until 1am this morning sorting and getting ready for today. Not remembering that today was a holiday, this because my girls had to go to school. Well I then had to get up at 6am to get my girls ready and off to school. Then Delaney and I were off to shop! Needless to say the PX was not opened until 10am. But I stopped at the 7day store and got lots of good stuff there. I just wish they would STOP changing the rules to all of this. Every cashier and ever store is different. Its a LITTLE ridiculous. And now there is the rumor again that they are thinking of doing away with Double Coupon day..... NO ANYTHING BUT THAT! Come on people. It is WAY TO HELPFUL for all us POOR military families to get rid of it!

Anyways, on to my totals... (pictures will follow tomorrow)

My totals from today : 1st trip- $169.95 paid $29.05

2nd trip- $229.48 paid $29.59

3rd trip- $117.84 paid $19.21

4th trip- $87.01 paid $27.85 (this was mostly toys! there was some great coupons available online and in the paper in the last few weeks)

5th trip- $95.53 paid $5.72 (but I paid with a giftcard so no oop)

6th trip (was Haylee's) $11.96 paid $0.38

and my last trip- $50.40 paid $2.75 (used gift card again NO oop...)

For Grand Total of $762.17 and paid $106.08 just 14% of my total

$8.47 were paid with the giftcard that I got Last month from the BIG boo boo that the store overcharged me for.

So there it is... my totals. NOT as good as it has been the last few months, but they are still amazing!

I SCORED!

So it is that time again. I missed out last month on DOUBLE COUPON day because I was in Utah “playing” (ok so it was more like I COULDN’T come home because I had thrown my back out) WELL.. I sure made up for missing out last month yesterday!

I have gotten SO behind on cutting my coupons and sorting them. I stayed up til just about 2am Monday morning cutting, sorting and organizing. Knowing full well that my alarm was going to go off at 6am to get my oldest up and off to Jr High and THAT would be the start of my day. No nap.. no rest for the weary shopper.

Sydney (#2 Daughter) stayed home from school again yesterday. She has been sick for a week now. I am KINDA glad she was home. It was nice to have her help out with the baby so I could focus and get the shopping DONE!

So here are my totals:

1^st trip $311.72 and I paid $53.92 – 17% of my total

2^nd trip $326.11 and I paid $61.30 - 19% of my total

3^rd trip $112.66 and I paid $26.73 – 23% of the total (but the cashier was Dumb and overcharged me by $11.74. I TRIED to correct her mistake as she was checking me out but she got all huffy and told me she KNEW what she was doing! Are you kidding? I have been doing this for YEARS now. I could do her job for her and be done WAY quicker too. So after 3 trips back to the 7 day store, and waiting over and hour, The “remedy” they gave me was NOT a refund of my money but a GIFT CARD of $10. The management (of who was a Ssgt.) said they only came up with an $8 mistake, NOT the total that I had. I mean come on I KNOW how much I pay for something... down to the PENNY! WHATEVER

Sorry- I will step down off my soapbox now.

4^th trip (was actually my oldest daughters doing) $53.19 and she paid $1.19 - .02% of total

5^th trip $159.02 and I paid $22.49 – 14% of my total

And 6^th trip was $72.22 and my total was $3.64 - .05% of my total

FOR GRAND TOTALS OF:

$1034.92 and I paid $169.27 for a total of just 16% of my total.

And for that this is all the “STUFF” I got (It couldn't even ALL fit on my kitchen table!)

My girls were VERY excited about all the "treats" I got this time! (and my brother is gonna LOVE all the Dr. Pepper's I got for 0.39 each)

Here's the goods.... Double Coupon day

So it was Double Coupon day yesterday.... I swear it was just yesterday that we had it! I can't believe another month has gone by. I have been up at my parents house for most of the last month. Just coming home 2 times to get the mail and pick up medicines and such. And yes come home for Double Coupon day. Anyone who knows me I LOVE coupons and saving $$$$$. I wrote on my facebook the other day that I would be heading back to 29 just for double coupon day. Someone commented, well as long as you save more than the cost of gas to go home.... Well, see for yourself.... here are my totals.....

1st = $226.10 paid $32.10

2nd= $157.04 paid $17.81
3rd= $6.97 paid ZIPPO

4th= $244.03 paid $43.61

5th= $122.33 paid $19.94

6th= $112.32 paid $16.78

FOR GRAND TOTALS of $868.79 and I paid $130.24 = 15% of my total.

it wasn't my BEST.... I have done better.... (check out my other totals from DOUBLE COUPON day)

I actually was really frustrated at first. They were OUT of most of the stuff I had the GOOD coupons for. Ya know the things that would be FREE! Then during checkout at the 1st place, the cashier had rung up all the stuff, started doing the coupons and the register went blank! I am not sure whether she hit the wrong key and voided it or if the register did it.... however it happened, it had to be done all over again. I thought.... something like this happens to me EVERYTIME!!!! Either dumb cashiers who don't know math or have no clue how to do coupons..... it's ridiculous. Just once I want a good cashier... is that too much to ask?

I LOVE saving $$$

Believe it or not is was time for Double Coupon day on the base again.

For those of you who maybe haven't checked out my blog or don't "know" me.... I am totally OBSESSED with Saving $$$ and using coupons! Yes I admit it. I love finding deals. But I also LOVE sharing my deals and savings.... thus the reason for this post.

I have taught classes at church on coupon savings/shoppings and finding deals. I have done one on one classes and have enjoyed it all! I love sharing my knowledge with others. I have been told by many that this is my talent and I have always been told we need to use and develop our talents.

There are so MANY coupon blogs and sites out there and I admit that I follow (aka STALK) many of these kind of blogs. But I have been using coupons and saving LOADS of money for Years and Years now! More than I would care to say, cuz then that would AGE me :)

This past coupon day, a friend of mine, Ryalin, came along to "Learn the ways". I don't know whether she was really prepared to save money or just coming along to watch how to do it. None the less she saved a bunch! She did so good for her 1st time. I was a very proud teacher. Her totals were 1st - $285 and she paid $103 and 2nd- $160 and she paid $47 I was so glad she came with me. I had a good time hands on teaching......

It was also fun to get to the PX Monday morning and seeing so many of the girls from church, there with binders in hand, ready to SAVE!

There were many comments this time from Marines who said "you are totally serious about this coupon stuff" and "that is way too much for me. WOW! you are organized" (yeah until Kelsee knocked my binder on the ground, by accident, and the pages went all over! Thanks Ryalin for picking it up so I could BREATHE and not go bonkers with my kid)

Just a sidenote... school is out and the girls are home. We were getting ready to head outta town for a few weeks and totally could've left over the weekend, but there is NO WAY I could miss double coupon day (LOL) I Know that is silly but it saves my family so much money. I am glad that my parents totally understand that and dont make fun of me. (oh cuz there are plenty of people that do) but anyways, sorry I got a little sidetracked, like ALWAYS :) I tell you this because I did lay it all out like I always do to show ya'll my deals. But DUHHHH I ended up leaving the camera at home and never uploaded them to my computer. So sorry no pictures on this post until I get back home in a couple of weeks.
OK SO I DIDN'T LEAVE THE CAMERA HOME AFTERALL..... IT WAS IN A BAG IN THE TRUCK... I FOUND IT AS IT GOT DUMPED OUT WHEN A DOOR WAS OPENED! (ya not so funny.... but at least I have the camera)
